GREEN BOWL BEACH: THE EXPERIENCE
As told by Zade Grilloni
Cosy little spot! Just over from Melasti, Green Bowl has that Uluwatu crisp blue water. This was the first beach we went to and didn’t see plastic rubbish washed up on the shore, which was good to see.
We had a referal from a friend and hired a driver from Canggu to take us to 4 different spots around Uluwatu at a cost of $50 AUD from 8am until 8pm. There are many drivers around Bali that typically charge the same. After you pass the locals trying pretty hard to sell you things and the wild monkeys running around, you’ll reach the stairs that lead you down to the beach. Prepare your calves! Green bowl beach has over 300 steps down.
We got to Green Bowl around 10:30am, which we found was a good time as it wasn’t too busy and the sun was shining. If you feel like wandering around you’ll find some of the most beautiful shells among the rocks. This beach reminded me of the Southern Italian Coastline. Beautiful tall cliffs with hanging greenery and of course a beautiful little beach!
