A Day Exploring Uluwatu, Bali. Indonesia.
As told by Zade Grilloni
Paradise for surfers, a little slice of heaven for beach bums and straight up good, chilled vibes for all. Situated in Canggu, we decided to plan ourselves a list of things to do in Uluwatu to see what all the fuss was about. A friend suggested a guy by the name of Musa who charged us $50 from 9am to 8pm. Most drivers in Bali will charge a flat rate of $50 for a full day, taking you pretty much wherever you like which is crazy cheap! So like we did, you should shout them lunch to say thank you. If you’re spend a day in Uluwatu, here are 4 places you can enjoy!
1. Melasti Beach
This is our favorite beach in Bali! From the European-like cliffs, to the beautiful Balinese temple before reaching a white sand and turquoise water paradise. Not to mention, to find a place in Bali that isn’t yet saturated with tourists, you’ve got yourself a gem.
2. Green Bowl Beach
Gorgeous little beach in amongst the cliffs of Uluwatu. Epic views on the way down and typically not too busy, Green Bowl is our second favourite beach in Bali after Melasti. Want to get away from the crowds and chill? Green Bowl is for you.
3. Suluban Beach Cave
A gateway to the ocean for surfers and photo heaven for the tourists. Depending on the tide, the cave is exploreable by foot with some beautiful views of the ocean through the cliff walls.
4. Uluwatu Temple
One of six main spiritual pillars in Bali, Uluwatu Temple is well known for its epic cliff side views, wild monkeys, and traditional Hindu architecture. A place of worship and a beautiful place to watch the sun go down.
